She did some tests on me and determined I had damaged three ligaments, which were just taking their sweet-ass time to heal. She gave me a horseshoe-shaped piece of foam to wrap around my ankle. Trying to figure out what the hell I was supposed to do with it was like an episode of Mr Bean. I finally had to get her to show me directly. This is what she meant:
Apparently this is good for the swelling. I have also been instructed to do squats, spell the alphabet with my foot and flap my feet as I cycle.
Flap flap.

I spell the alphabet all the time with my feet. Ever since my grandpa had knee surgery and he sat me down and showed me all the exercises he'd had to do for months beforehand.
"edcba...." sometimes I do it backward and think of this fabulous comedy skit.
A girl I used to work with got this in her email one day and couldn't stop laughing. I can't stop laughing when I see it. We used to watch it over and over and if I want to make her laugh I just call her up and sing the "edcba..." bit.
My favourite bit is the "step, bump, step, bump, bump,"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I've seen that before - it's hilarious. I love the shoving of the hat into the air.
Welcome to the Blogosphere.
I have never heard of doing the alphabet with my feet -- but I've never really injured my ankle, either.
I LOVE that skit. I saw it on t.v. and was so happy to see it again.
